How the Focused Team Journey Works
The Focused Team Journey begins by evaluating the current state of the team’s overall health as it relates to trust, team culture, commitment, communication, collaboration, inclusion, conflict resolution, accountability, alignment, and achieving collective results.
My approach includes working with each individual leader through one-on-one coaching. The Focused Leader Journey starts with helping them manage their mindset. We then evaluate their leadership capabilities and tendencies to help prioritize their focus areas of development that will yield the highest impact for the leader and their team. Next we create a plan to guide their specific skill development including clear actions and habits needed to achieve their intended outcomes. With their plan in place, leaders begin taking focused and flexible action through daily practice in their role, and adjust as needed with regular reviews. Leaders also have access to Just-in-Time Coaching which are 15 minute targeted sessions to help them work through a specific challenge as they arise.
Working with each leader individually is a key component in building foundational safety and trust that is then extended into the group sessions. Leaders are supported by me, their coach, and then feel that support extension over time with the group. It is incredibly important for me to build trust with each leader individually so I can carry that into your team dynamic. Your leaders and team will move farther, faster by adopting this approach.
Group sessions are engaging and interactive, designed to provide a safe space for leaders to share, be seen, feel heard, work through their challenges together, explore learning on relevant topics impacting them, and to practice building foundational skills of a dynamic team.
Group sessions are incredibly effective because they provide the team with a shared language and experience that strengthens their bond, and helps them align and move forward together. A result of this ultimately extends back to the overall health of the organization.
Each group session will follow a structure similar to the following:
👉 Pre and post evaluations to determine team progress
👉 Opportunity to bring relevant challenges to the table
👉 Team review, learning and discussion with breakouts to deep-dive in a smaller group setting
👉 Practice prompts that leaders will be expected to take action on with their teams in between sessions
👉 Accountability for the progress each leader made between cohort sessions
We complete another round of individual and team evaluations to measure the progress of each leader and the team overall. We then review progress and celebrate the success of each individual and team as a whole.
